Apple’s data centers now use 100% renewable energy, including solar, wind and geothermal energy — the company no longer powers any of its operations with coal or other fossil fuels. In fact, last December, Apple powered up a 100-acre solar farm adjacent to a North Carolina data center. Using fuel cells made by Bloom Energy Corp., which generates energy from biogases, Apple is able to generate 60% of all the energy it needs to run the data center onsite. Made a few real estate charts last week for Businessweek. Bit of a therapy session for me since I am looking for a new place to live.

Chart on the left shows all the services that can be used to replace 75% of what your real estate agent is supposed to do.

Chart on the right shows how more people use the internet to find a house, but still use real estate agents to buy a house.
